LowCut Magazine
LowCut is a monthly webzine where an assorted bunch of scenesters
write about things that are noisy and disturbing. In the
early weeks of 2003, LowCut slowly started forming itself
out of the still smoldering ashes of Moshable Magazine,
and with due delay, the first issue went online in the spring
of that year.
Since then, it's been completely updated around the first
of just about every month with new interviews, reviews,
rants, features, and gig lists. Don Krogh edited the whole
mess until he left to concentrate on Bad Afro Records and
being a father in the early summer of 2006, since when Jens
Kofoed-Pihl and Jon A have been co-editors and the ones
to blame for every bad turn LowCut has taken. From the beginning,
the intention has been to function as a resource for the
Danish underground rock scene, that term expanding over
time from its original focus on garage rock to cover punk
rock, hardcore, psych, stoner rock, as well as trash movies
and related literature from all over the world. And when
we say resource, that means everything that's sent our way
and sounds like something we judge to be within the boundaries
of what LowCut should cover, we'll cover it, even if it
won't necessarily be fair coverage. Over the years, we've
interviewed such luminaries as Mudhoney, Zeke, Gorilla Angreb,
The Hard-Ons, Baby Woodrose, Supersuckers, and even AC/DC,
as well as a ton of smaller acts, half of which probably
don't even exist by now.
LowCut is a strictly non-profit, non-commercial
venture, because no one would want to touch us with a stick
anyway. Opinions expressed in individual articles ought to
be shared not only by the entire staff or just the LowCut
readership, but by everyone in general, for the world to be
a much more comfortable place for the writer. Opinions expressed
in interviews aren't necessarily those of sane persons.
We will be reviewing LPs, CDs, 7", DVD
and VHS (pal).
